//We all have 86,400 seconds in our day…every day.

We all have 86,400 seconds in our day…every day.

We all have the same amount of time in each day. 86,400 seconds.

Do you ever wish you could enjoy the day more? Accomplish more towards your goals? Love more, laugh more and even look forward to the next day?

On October 22nd, I had the gift of chatting with two highly respected life and business strategists about this topic. Cledra Gross https://www.cledra.com/   and  Meshell R Baker http://meshellrbaker.com/ .

Cledra chatted about feeling like she “never had enough time” or “wishing she had done more in a day” and I can so relate to this way of thinking. I remember a time in my life when the day was filled with task after task and when I couldn’t get it all done, I would crawl into bed with a feeling of defeat. I love what Cledra called it, “the Gold Star Life.” Getting a gold star for everything that you completed and letting the external validation of checking off the boxes of your list run your life.

Meshell shared with us her tip for success in creating a “thriving” life by creating your own personal mission statement. Our “life” is created a second at a time, and that’s really what this episode highlights. Meshell goes on to explain that by creating a mission statement, we put the focus back on who we are becoming (each morning “who will I be today?”) versus letting your to do list determine your identity.

Cledra called it surrender. You can find out more about what she has to say about this (which is life changing),   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNpehvTtTOU&t=2147s  and what hit my heart the most was the fact that surrender can give us more control over our behaviors and actions and made it less about others and their behaviors and actions.

In closing,  Meshell shared with us about the Do, Have Be concept. Ask yourself if you live by this concept? Do this and you’ll Have this and then you’ll Be happy. I remember a time when that was my driving mantra. I can say that this was more about an existence, rather than a life.

Have a great day today!
